Matty drew a picture of the Houston temple last night. He was very proud of his work and he wanted to send it to Heavenly Father so He could see the picture Matty had drawn of “His house”. When I explained (after a good chuckle) that no mail carriers deliver to Heaven he decided the bishop was the best earthly recipient so we sent it to him instead. He wrote a message on it that said, “LV WN ANTHR JEZUS LUV U”.

We were taking care of our dear friend Sister Jugon today. She is 67 years old and referred to herself as “old”. Matty said, “You shouldn’t say ‘old’ that’s not nice. You should just say you’ve had a lot of birthdays.”

We’ve been working hard to improve our yard. Phase 1 was planting something in our front planter bed. Phil studied up on some bushes and we visited our local nursery. We planted a bunch of different shrublike things, but my favorite is the hibiscus. Ours is blooming like crazy with this warm humid weather.

Mr. Independent was hungry and we just weren’t responding fast enough to his needs, I guess. When Phil and I came into the kitchen we found Matty making himself a “Butter Sandwich, with Ham” - his favorite! The butter was a bit thick and globby, but otherwise he did a pretty good job.

Katie Jean - Speed Crawler

We were babysitting some friends today, a 4 year old and a 2 year old boy. Katie wanted to play with the boys and kept crawling after them. The littlest one would scream everytime Katie crawled toward him. She crawled so fast he thought she was charging him. Unfortunately, Katie thought it was funny and kept crawling after the screaming lad. She’s a tease.

The Pups

Everyday Phil works with his pups. They are coming right along in their training. Naos (blue collar) is very trainable and obedient. Argo (with the red collar) is a playful numskull, but so very loving. It is funny to see their different personalities (or would it be dogalities?). They act just like brothers and tease and torment each other all day long.

Kade came to visit our house in Texas. Matty wishes every day that Kade could live next door. Matty is already counting down the days until we get to go see Kade in July. They like to talk on the phone and tell each other about superheros, puppies, movies and more. The other day I had to make Matthew say good bye after they had talked for over ten minutes on the telephone.

We had a fun weekend visit from New Yorkers, John, Emily and baby Brooklyn. Brooklyn was as sweet and good natured as she is beautiful! Phil was particularly smitten by little Brooklyn. He’s a sucker for sweet baby girls. We are so excited to have the Dobbs family moving closer to us this Spring!

Katie Jean - I am not left handed…

Katie hasn’t walked much at all since her first steps over one month ago. At church she was crawling around with all the other babies. One little baby had a ball that rolled away. He crawled towards it and Katie tried to beat him to it, but her dress got in the way. She stood up and walked to it instead to get to the toy first. I was so surprised! I guess she likes to keep her walking skills in her back pocket- just in case.

I was rocking Katie to sleep and Matty popped in to say hello. As he was leaving he said, “Well, see ya later, Folks” tipped his baseball cap and slammed the door. What a goon.
